Kıdem Interest Calculator

Simple interest
365 days

Highest deposit rate applied in practice (sample). Courts use bank data.

What this tool does

This page estimates delay interest on unpaid kıdem. Principal (kıdem amount) lives on the kıdem page; combined kıdem+ihbar+leave lives on the hub.

  • Simple interestNo compounding — one transparent formula.
Calculation: principal × annual rate × days / 365. Day count runs between your start and end dates.
  • You enter the rateNo live bank feed; sample % figures are informational.
Courts periodically research the highest rate banks actually apply to one-year TL deposits. Sample percentages in the tool are only a starting point.
  • Not yasal faiz (statutory interest)Different from statutory interest under Act No. 3095.
Kıdem delay interest under the Act No. 1475 framework uses the highest deposit rate applied; in most files it exceeds ordinary statutory interest.
  • Shareable resultPersist inputs via URL.
Copy link restores the same principal, rate, and dates. The result is informational only.

How to use

Enter principal, interest-period dates, and the annual rate; Calculate returns day count and interest amount.

  1. Enter the principal

Type the unpaid kıdem amount (often the net figure or the amount used in the file). Estimate the principal on the kıdem calculator page first.

    Go to interest form
  2. Start and end dates

Choose when interest should start running and the end date you want (e.g. today or a payment date).

    Go to form
  3. Enter the annual rate

Type your assumed highest deposit rate as a percentage, or pick a sample rate.

    Go to form
  4. Calculate

Day count, interest amount, and total (principal + interest) appear line by line.

What is kıdem delay interest?

Kıdem delay interest is a simple-interest estimate on unpaid kıdem under the Act No. 1475 highest-deposit-rate concept. It is not yasal (3095) interest, and it is not the kıdem amount itself.

This tool only estimates interest. Find the principal (net kıdem) on the kıdem pay calculator; use the hub for combined kıdem+ihbar+leave.

Formula

Interest = principal × (annual rate / 100) × days / 365. Total = principal + interest.

This page does not re-explain the kıdem formula; estimate the principal with the kıdem pay calculator. Here we only estimate delay interest — no compounding and no withholding tax in the model.

Rate reality

Sample percentages are informational; courts / experts research period-specific bank rates.

Rate notes

  • Sample % ≠ court rate

Sample rates in the form are for quick trials. In a real dispute, an expert or the court looks at bank data for the relevant period.

  • From which date does it run?

In practice interest often starts from the termination date; default and payment timing vary by file. This tool uses the date range you enter.

  • No compound interest

The calculator applies simple interest only. No compounding or period capitalisation is added.

Kıdem interest vs yasal faiz

Kıdem delay interest is not statutory (yasal) interest; it usually tracks a higher deposit rate.

Worked examples

These scenarios show the simple-interest formula. Rates are assumptions; a court rate depends on period bank research.

  1. Example 1

    Mid-size principal, one year

100,000 TL kıdem claim, about one year of delay, 40% annual assumption — simple-interest example.

    Interest
    40.000,00 TL
    Days
    365
    Total
    140.000,00 TL

    100.000 × 40% × 365 / 365

    Calculate with these inputs

  2. Example 2

    Short period, smaller amount

45,000 TL, 90 days, 35% — short delays make the day count’s effect easy to see.

    Interest
    3.883,56 TL
    Days
    90
    Total
    48.883,56 TL

    45.000 × 35% × 90 / 365

    Calculate with these inputs

  3. Example 3

    High principal

250,000 TL, 180 days, 45% sample rate — interest grows quickly on a large principal; the rate is an assumption.

    Interest
    55.479,45 TL
    Days
    180
    Total
    305.479,45 TL

    250.000 × 45% × 180 / 365

    Calculate with these inputs

Points to watch

  • Estimate the principal on the kıdem page first; this tool only applies interest.
  • Sample rates are informational — there is no live bank feed.
  • A court / expert figure may differ from this estimate.
  • The tool does not apply compound interest or withholding tax.
  • Kıdem claims are generally subject to a five-year limitation; how interest runs can vary by file.

Frequently asked questions

  • How is kıdem delay interest calculated?
This tool uses simple interest: principal × (annual rate / 100) × days / 365. Day count is between the start and end dates you enter. Compound interest is not applied.
  • Where do I get the principal?
The principal is usually the unpaid kıdem amount. Estimate net kıdem on the kıdem calculator page first, then enter that figure here. For combined kıdem+ihbar+leave, use the hub tool.
  • From which date does interest run?
In practice, interest often starts from the termination date. Default and payment dates in a concrete file depend on court / expert assessment. The tool uses the date range you enter.
  • Is kıdem delay interest the same as yasal faiz?
No. Kıdem delay interest under the Act No. 1475 framework uses the highest deposit rate applied; it differs from statutory interest under Act No. 3095 and is often higher.
  • Where do I get the rate?
Courts research the highest rate banks actually apply to one-year TL deposits. You enter the rate here; sample percentages are informational only.
  • Is compound interest or withholding tax applied?
This calculator uses simple interest only — no compounding. Withholding tax is not modelled. Results are informational estimates.
  • Is there a limitation period?
Kıdem receivables are generally subject to a five-year limitation. How interest and time run can vary — consult a lawyer in a dispute.
  • Are the results legal advice?
No. Results are informational estimates — not a payslip or court judgment. Your assumed rate may differ from court / expert research.
